Plasma Fibroblasting

Skin Tightening - Scar Reduction - Anti Aging

Fibroblast Plasma Therapy is a new skin tightening procedure that is generating a lot of buzz in the aesthetics industry. It delivers tiny arcs of plasma created by an electrical discharge via a “plasma pen” to the skin, immediately cauterizing the surface of the skin resulting in a tightening of the underlying tissue. Unlike a typical light or other energy-based skin tightening treatment where a large area of skin is treated with each firing, a Fibroblast Plasma Therapy treatment only effects a very small, pin-point of tissue with each application. The whole treatment is then performed by repeatedly applying the pen in grid pattern over the treatment area. It appears that, in general, there are few risks of complications with this treatment. The treatment appears to be very straightforward—a provider applies the device in a grid pattern to the area of the skin to the skin. Simply put, the Fibroblast Plasma Therapy is essentially an energy device similar to other IPL, electricity, and radio frequency devices.

Fibroblast has increased in popularity due to its many advantages over more invasive surgery, injections and high-intensity laser treatments. There is less downtime, it is more affordable and has far fewer potential negative side-effects.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? As Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment (skin volume is actually reduced), the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing, but the positive results should last years depending on the area treated. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the final results will be seen after several weeks. For some, an additional treatment may be required after 8 weeks for maximum results. Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and sun exposure.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED? The number of treatments required will vary according to the area being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Most clients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to achieve better results. Appointments must be spaced out by 8 weeks.

WHAT TO EXPECT-SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 7-10 days following treatment. There will be small carbon scabs (little cauterized dots) in the treated area that will last 7-10 days before naturally lifting, revealing new pink skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for a few days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation, it is very important to follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

PLEASE NOTE: You WILL have small dots on the treatment area (tiny scabs) for 4-7 days after this treatment. You cannot go in the sun during this time as hyperpigmentation and/or scarring may result.
